Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Swedish Medical Center. Our volunteers are a valued member of our family and provide more than 60,000 hours of support each year.
Whether working as a front desk greeter, answering questions in the surgery waiting area or taking flowers and e-mails to patients, our volunteers help us create memorable experiences for our guests.
Follow the steps below to get you on your way to becoming a Swedish volunteer.
1. Complete an application. Save the application to your computer and e-mail it to us*. Or, print, complete and send via mail to:
Volunteer Services at Swedish Medical Center
501 East Hampden Avenue
Englewood, Colorado 80113
2. Please complete the background check form. All volunteers must complete and clear a background check facilitated by our Human Resource department prior to volunteering. Send your completed background check form with our application to the above mailing address.
3. Once your background check has been approved, a brief interview will be scheduled followed by an invitation to attend a mandatory New Volunteer Orientation. The orientation consists of an introduction to our facility, an overview of the Volunteer Program, as well as information pertaining to understanding and adhering to Swedish Medical Center’s Core Values and Standards in providing memorable care and exemplary service to our patients and visitors.
During the orientation, a TB test will be administered by our Employee Health Department.
Upon completion of your background check, orientation and health screening, volunteer placement opportunities will be discussed. Remember, not all shifts or assignments may be available, but most volunteers are scheduled for one day per week, four hours/day.
