ACPE Accredited 2016-2017 Clinical Pastoral Education Residency
HealthONE Swedish Medical Center, Englewood, CO, offers four one-year Level I/II CPE residency positions beginning August 22, 2016—August 26, 2017 (53 weeks)
Applicants are ordinarily required to have completed one previous Level I CPE unit and a completed graduate level theological degree (M.Div. or equivalency) by the beginning of the residency. Fluency in English speaking, understanding, writing and reading is required. Availability for an in-person interview is necessary and a current visa valid for working in a CPE residency year in the USA through August 2017. Residents complete four units of CPE, with a significant, progressive curriculum focus from Level I towards Level II ACPE Learning Outcomes. Chaplaincy contexts include Emergency/Trauma Services, Multi-Trauma, Critical Care, Burn Care, Cardiac Care, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Women’s & Children’s Services, Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery, Pediatrics/PICU, Oncology (Cancer Services), Surgery Services, and involvement with Clinical Ethics, Palliative Comfort Care, Organ/Tissue Donation, No One Dies Alone and other hospital committees. The stipend is $33,300 for the residency year, free tuition, with access to full-time employee benefits which include cost efficient health/dental benefits, approximately 20 days of paid time off (vacation).
