The Deep Brain Stimulation program offers comprehensive patient-centered care
Our individualized care begins at the initial consultation and continues through treatment, support and follow up wellness care. Our integrative approach includes both inpatient and outpatient care.
Our first step is establishing if Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) is the best next step in your treatment program. Our evaluation is designed to meet the current DBS guidelines and may include neuroconsultation visit, cognitive assessments, brain MRI, counseling appointment, neuropsychological testing, rehabilitation consultation and/or primary care physician appointment for general health concerns . DBS is not right for everyone, and these processes help our team discover the best treatment options.
Once we have established that DBS is a good option, our team is highly experienced in deep brain stimulation's surgical procedure
This procedure involves placing a small device in the chest that sends electrical impulses (signals) to the brain to help prevent involuntary movements.
Our care doesn't end after treatment. Our long-term follow up care may include battery checks, setting checks, device troubleshooting, referral to rehab specialists and guidance on optimizing medical therapies.
Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy
Our team includes physical and occupational therapists to help patients achieve maximum function and live as normal lives as possible.
