At Swedish Medical Center, we offer expert radiation oncology care from a dedicated team of specialists. We’re an ACR-accredited radiation oncology practice led by Dr. Marshall Davis, a board-certified radiation oncologist, and ONS-certified nursing staff. Our world-class facilities, cutting-edge technology and extensive treatment volume and experience make us the premier radiation oncology center in the Rocky Mountain region.
Radiation oncology is a minimally invasive treatment option that uses radiation to treat cancer cells. Radiation oncology is often used in combination with other types of treatment options, including surgery and chemotherapy. Using advanced imaging technology, our experienced radiation oncology specialists deliver targeted radiation treatment to affected cells with minimal damage to healthy tissue.
Dr. Marshall Davis, a board-certified radiation oncologist, leads our team that is also staffed by a chief technical coordinator, four radiation therapy technicians, two RNs, one full-time dosimetrist, a full-time physicist, clerical/medical records specialists and a certified massage therapist.
In addition to the radiation oncology team, patients at Swedish have the benefit of regular interdisciplinary conferences. During these conferences, a team of experts including surgeons, interventional radiologists, pathologists, medical oncologists, nurse navigators, physical therapists, dieticians and social workers gather to discuss patient cases and develop treatment plans from diagnosis through recovery.
Our program is also accredited by the American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer, works closely with the Colorado Cancer Research Program and participates in Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) studies.
Cutting-Edge Technology and Facilities
In addition to our highly experienced multidisciplinary team, our center offers state-of-the-art technology to help treat and beat our patients' cancers:
With these advances in technology, we can offer our patients the latest minimally invasive cancer treatment techniques.
Cancer Treatment Under One Roof
At Swedish, each patient’s cancer care journey, from diagnosis through surgery, rehabilitation and survivorship, can happen in one place. This allows us to minimize the complexities of trying to coordinate treatment and care. Our nurse navigators work with you to develop a detailed treatment plan, and each step of the treatment process can take place right here at Swedish, with board-certified and industry-leading experts on your side every step of the way.
Our radiation oncology program is located very close to our Infusion Center and Chemotherapy treatment center, so patients can access multiple facets of oncology care within walking distance of one another.
Radiation Oncology Treatment Support
We provide our radiation oncology patients with support services including access to specially-trained oncology nurse navigators, dieticians, social workers and integrative health services, like acupuncture and massage. We work to support and encourage each patient from diagnosis through recovery and survivorship.
