Following his wife's treatment for stroke at Swedish Medical Center in June 2010, Shaun wrote a touching letter of thanks. Here's an excerpt from his letter:
Hello! My name is Shaun Kerrick and I am trying to reach out to and THANK the Emergency team that responded to my 9-1-1 call regarding my wife on June 6, 2010.
Early on this Sunday morning — we were getting ourselves rolling and trying to head out the door to my son's baseball games when my wife suffered a stroke. We didn't know it at the time but it was quickly diagnosed by the paramedics and the medical team at Swedish Medical Center.
Looking back on that day the thing that struck me was the speed and professionalism displayed by the team of folks that showed up at my house. I remember one of the response team members asking me which hospital we preferred — I said Lutheran.... (we have some history over there) he explained that it appeared she was having a stroke and that Swedish had one of the best stroke centers around. Sounded good to me - and told him I would meet them at the hospital.
As I was told beforehand — the team at Swedish was OUTSTANDING. When I arrived at the hospital - I was told that my wife was having a stroke and that they needed to act quickly as her condition was getting worse.
They administered some new medication and got her into the operating room for surgery to remove a blood clot. When she went into surgery she could not speak and could not move the right side of her body.
After surgery the recovery process was amazing!! By 11PM Sunday night she and I had a full coherent conversation on what had transpired that day. Today, her recovery is pretty much at 100%! That is amazing to me!
Best of Luck to All!
