David Bar-Or, M.D.
Dr. Bar-Or serves as the director of trauma research at Swedish Medical Center. He has authored or co-authored over 80 peer-reviewed journals and is the recipient of the Gustav Levi Award from the Hadassah/Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, NY, and the Kornfield Award for the Outstanding MD Thesis. He received his medical degree from the Hebrew University, Hadassah Medical School, in Jerusalem, Israel. He completed his residency and fellowship at Denver Health Medical Center, where he specialized in emergency medicine. He has been in practice for more than 37 years.
Not only do the residents at Swedish have the opportunity to work with Dr. David Bar-Or, but the hospital also employs epidemiologists to assist residents and faculty with their research projects. There is a monthly Trauma Research Committee devoted especially to the work of the general surgery residents and faculty. HealthONE is also in the process of hiring a research coordinator who can assist residents with data. HealthONE has a vast selection of research resources and a Director of Research, Oliwier Dziadowiec, PhD, who helps guide and support both residents and faculty with resources and scholarly development activities.
