Donald Frei, MD attended medical school at the University of Cincinnati. He completed his Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Tulane University Medical Center. He then completed both Diagnostic Neuroradiology and Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology fellowships at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology in St. Louis, Missouri. Prior to his position at Radiology Imaging Associates, Dr. Frei was Director of Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology at Texas Neuroradiology, PA, Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Frei performs minimally invasive NeuroInterventional Surgical procedures, including acute catheter directed stroke intervention, angioplasty/stent revascularization of cerebrovascular stenosis and minimally invasive treatment of cerebral aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations. Dr. Frei, as a member of the CNI Stroke Council, is working towards establishing state-of-the-art diagnosis and management strategies in treating patients with acute stroke. He was instrumental in helping Swedish Medical Center establish itself as the first Comprehensive Stroke Center in the region. Dr. Frei is a leader in neurovascular research and he is passionate about advancing the care of stroke and cerebral aneurysms. He is a senior member of the Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery and the American Society of Neuroradiology. He is the past president of The Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery. He is board certified by The American board of Radiology 1994 with Certificate of Added Qualifications in Neuroradiology 1996.
