At Swedish Medical Center, we’re committed to supporting you through every step of your cancer journey, from diagnosis through recovery.

In addition to world-class facilities, we’re the proud home of some of the most encompassing cancer support services in the Rocky Mountain region.

Our Cancer Resource Center offers a one-stop resource for cancer patients and their loved ones to find information and assistance. Any patient can call the Cancer Resource Center at 303-788-2627 to speak with our nurses, dieticians and volunteers about resources and support services for cancer patients. Patients can browse our comprehensive resource library with updated information about cancer diagnosis, treatment and recovery.

Patients are welcome to attend our free support group and educational classes that are held regularly. Contact the Cancer Resource Center for more information.

Patients can also speak with our specially trained staff about scheduling a meeting with Swedish Medical Center health professionals, including a registered dietician, pain management physicians, nurse navigators, psychologists, chaplains, hospice nurses or integrative medicine specialists.

Care Navigation Services

As part of the Swedish Cancer Resource Center, patients have access to a registered dietician and can take advantage of our nutritional services. Some cancers require very specific dietary changes, and patients can work one-on-one with our dietician to establish an individualized diet plan that works for them. We also partner with Project Angel Heart, a free service that delivers nutritious meals to improve quality of life for those coping with life-threatening illnesses.

Patients can also work with our Nurse Navigators to manage their appointments and keep track of their care. Patients have access to integrative health services, like acupuncture and massage. Patients can also access palliative care focused on relieving symptoms, pain, stress and suffering, provided alongside medical treatment.

Emotional Support Services

At our Cancer Resource Center, we work with patients to provide wigs, scarves, knit caps and other accessory items to help patients with their outward appearance, helping inspire confidence in a difficult time for our patients. We also partner with the American Cancer Society’s Look Good Feel Better program, open to all women undergoing cancer treatment. The Look Good Feel Better program offers cancer patients the opportunity to learn beauty techniques including skin and nail care, cosmetics, wigs and turbans, accessories and styling. These classes are designed to help cancer patients manage the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment.
